Saturday’s Detroit Steps event

For more information about the Detroit Steps Project, visit this overview page.

The cleanup day for the Detroit Steps on Saturday June 8th was a great success — and Board of Supervisors President Norman Yee visited to show his support. Recently the Detroit Steps Project received a District 7 Participatory Budgeting grant. More about the project here.  A big thank-you to Canyon Market for the donation of food and coffee, and Flora Grub for the donation of plants. All photos except the first one by Flora Clerque Photography.

KA-boom! What to do about illegal fireworks this Fourth of July

From Ingleside Police Station:

Operation Kaboom 2019 Phase 1 (June 4th – July 3rd)

Frustrated by the relentless scourge of illegal July 4th Fireworks every year?

If so, Ingleside Station needs your help. Please:

1) Contact us about problem locations where illegal fireworks have been ignited in the past, and

2) If you see something; say something. We need specific locations with either the addresses or intersections where the big, house shaking, fire hazard creating, injury-causing fireworks were detonated in years past.

During the month leading up to the 4th, we will be compiling a list of these locations in anticipation of 4th of July illegal fireworks activity so that we can stop the big, dangerous gatherings from even starting.

Email us at: sfpd.fireworks@sfgov.org; you may remain anonymous/confidential.
