Dispose of unwanted prescription drugs – September 29

September 29, 2012

10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Ingleside Police Station

The Drug Enforcement Administration is partnering with local governments to collect and dispose of unwanted prescription drugs. Prescription Drug Take-Back Day will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at participating locations.

This is the fifth time the DEA has sponsored a drug take-back day, and if the previous events’ results are any indication, there is ample interest. And drugs. In April, people turned in 552,161 pounds of drugs at 5,659 take-back sites across the nation.

Prescription drugs that are improperly disposed of can harm the environment, and unwanted drugs sitting around a home can be abused recreationally or lead to accidental overdoses.

If you have unwanted drugs, simply bring them to your local site–our Ingleside Police Station:  from: 94112 to: 1 JOHN YOUNG LANE, SAN FRANCISCO, CA 94112. The service is anonymous and free. You can also find more information at:  http://www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov/drug_disposal/takeback/index.html.
