Temescal Quartet Reminder at Sunnyside Conservatory

Don’t forget…there will be a wonderful performance by the Temescal String Quartet this Friday, April 24th, in the Sunnyside Conservatory. Please do join us for a lovely evening of classical chamber music.
Time: The Conservatory doors open at 6:30pm, and the music begins at 7:00pm.
Place: 236 Monterey Boulevard – in the Conservatory Octagon!
Light refreshments will be served. (It would be lovely if some could contribute cookies or other snack items to the refreshments.)

Tickets: At the door. Donations of $20 are requested to support free community events such as Pumpkin Carving, Card Making from recycled goods, Wreath Making, and other events. No one turned away.

This concert is one of several events in 2015  that celebrate the fifth year of the restored Sunnyside Conservatory building and grounds sponsored by San Francisco Department of Recreation and Parks and the Friends of Sunnyside Conservatory.

Enjoy!

Balboa Reservoir Site Study: Save the Date – Second Public Workshop on May 5th!

Dear Community Members,

Thanks for your interest in the Balboa Reservoir Site Study project! You are receiving this newsletter because you subscribed for updates or attended a community outreach meeting on the project. You may change your settings here.

Balboa Reservoir Public Workshop Flyer

Save the Date: Second Public Workshop on May 5th!
Since our first public workshop on January 21st, the City has continued its outreach with a series of meetings with individual neighborhood groups, community service providers and business owners. Join us for our second workshop as we summarize all the community feedback we’ve received to date and explore the most cited priorities in greater detail. Add to the conversation by sharing which public amenities you think could best serve the community’s needs.

Date: Tuesday, May 5, 2015
Time: 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
Location: CCSF Multi-Use Building Room 140, 50 Phelan Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94112
RSVP: an optional RSVP link is here. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP or tickets are not mandatory, but helpful to ensure we have enough materials and refreshments.

CCSF is ADA accessible. For language assistance or disability accommodations, please contact Jeremy Shaw at jeremy.shaw@sfgov.org or 415-575-9135 with your request at least three business days in advance.

New Online Forum
A Sunnydale resident created a public google group and discussion board to help further an open, productive conversation. Anyone with an e-mail account can join, and we will do our best to respond, clarify and moderate on the forum. However, for all official City communication, please see the project website.

Community Amenity Survey
If you have not already taken the community amenity survey at a public meeting or online, please take the survey by Monday, April 20th.

Catch up online!
View the City’s presentation from the January 21st community workshop and accompanying summary.

CAC Meetings and the Future:
A new Citizen’s Advisory Committee (CAC) representing nearby neighborhoods, businesses and other stakeholders will begin holding monthly meetings for public discussion and feedback. The CAC will continue to provide input to the City as the project continues into the next phases, including:

  •  Fall 2015 – Release of Request for Development Proposals (RFP)
  •  2016-2017 – Community Design Meetings

For questions about the project, please contact:

Jeremy Shaw, Project Manager

Two Bus Route Name Changes coming your way!

The San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA). I wanted to get in touch today to let you know about some exciting Muni service improvements coming your way this April as part of Muni Forward.

In case you haven’t heard about Muni Forward, it’s an initiative to make getting around San Francisco easier, safer, and more reliable. If you are interested in receiving updates about this project, please follow this link. Combined, the service changes being implemented citywide represent a 12 percent increase in Muni service.

Come April 25, in your neighborhood, the following bus names and numbers will change:
•                    6 Parnassus is now the 6 Haight-Parnassus
•                    17 Parkmerced is now the 57 Parkmerced

I’ve only outlined the service changes that impact your area, so be sure to check out the attached document to learn about all the improvements happening city-wide. If you could pass along this document to your community group, that would be much appreciated.

If you have any questions, please contact muniforward@sfmta.com, or visit http://www.sfmta.com for more information.
Best regards,
CJ
