Frida Kahlo Quick Build Public Hearing, February 16

Hello from the Frida Kahlo Way Quick-Build Project team!

Here are some updates on the project.

Revised Design:

Since December, the project team has been hard at work responding to public comments and we’ve made significant changes to the proposed design for the project. Specifically, we’ve removed the existing southbound bikeway and widened the buffer area between the bikeway and travel lane on the east side of the street to accommodate the moto parking and bikeshare station. This allows for additional general vehicle parking on the west side of the street compared to existing and the design we shared in 2023. More information on the revised design and parking changes is available on the project website.

Public Hearing:

The project will be heard at a formal engineering public hearing, held virtually on February 16th at 10am. This will be an opportunity for members of the public to make their opinions heard in a formal setting. Join the meeting virtually or by phone or submit comments in writing to FridaQB@SFMTA.com . Comments received in any of these formats will be weighted equally and comments already received have been recorded. No decisions will be made at the hearing. Following public hearing, the project will be heard by the MTA Board of Directors as soon as March 19th for a final decision.

Thanks for your continued interest in this project! If you have additional questions or comments, please reach out at FridaQB@SFMTA.com
