San Francisco”s Department of Emergency Management issued a recommendation last week that all Bay Area residents cover their mouths with cloth when leaving home for essential trips such as grocery or medical needs. This guidance matches what State officials have also recommended.
Face coverings can be scarves, cloth masks, etc. Medical-grade masks are not recommended. Read official press release below. If you don’t have such an item already, you can search online to find instructions for sewn and no-sew cloth masks–there are many creative ideas out there, such as these made from a t-shirt.
