The SNA held it’s quarterly general meeting last Monday. Here’s a recap of what went down.
Supervisor Myrna Melgar updated us about the current Muni financial crises and ongoing negotiations about possible cutbacks in transit service. Read more about it and give your feedback here.
Also, this year’s Participatory Budgeting is kicking off. If you have an idea for a project for the neighborhood submit it here.
Ingleside Station Captain Amy Hurwitz spoke about the general down tick in crime in our area and invited everyone to the SFPD Ingleside Community Meetings held third Tuesdays of the month, 6-7 PM at Ingleside Station Balboa Park. She also alerted us about the new speed cameras that are slated to be installed on Monterey Blvd between Edna and Congo in March or April.
Estelle Smith gave a report on her efforts to improve Havelock Street and the 1-280 footbridge connecting to Balboa Park. If you haven’t already read her post check it out here.
Cooper Smith from Quit Carbon gave a presentation. They also provides homeowners with free expert guidance on their project, from start to finish.
Secretary Margaret Hosel spoke about proposed changes to the SNA by-laws. They will be posted soon and voted on at the next quarterly meeting in May.
And finally, we elected Mike Kelly as our second Member at Large for the SNA Board. Welcome, Mike!

Balboa Reservoir community event on December 5th
The next Balboa Reservoir project event is the Community Holiday Party held on Wed Dec 5, at the Ingleside Presbyterian Church (1345 Ocean Ave) from 6 to 8 pm.
During the event, there will also be a Sustainability Workshop, describing how that principle will be implemented in the planned housing project. Opportunities for public feedback.

Participatory Budgeting: Your ideas can come to life
The new season of Participatory Budgeting is on. This is the sixth and biggest year of Supervisor Norman Yee’s District 7 Participatory Budgeting — a process by which community members have the opportunity to set budgeting priorities and make decisions on what community projects should be funded.
Do you live, work or play in District 7? Come help decide how to spend $650,000 in your district. Come to the Project Proposal Workshop to learn more about the Participatory Budgeting (PB) process, how to develop ideas, get feedback on your project ideas, and meet your fellow neighbors! Tues Oct 30: Environmental Review scoping meeting for Balboa Reservoir project
There will be a public meeting to discuss the scope of the Balboa Reservoir project’s Environmental Impact Report (EIR)–which will consider what possibilities and configurations of the project, and its streets, buildings, and infrastructure, will be studied for their environmental impacts. This will be an opportunity to learn more about and comment on the proposed EIR scope of work. More about opportunities to comment below.
Here is the Notice of Preparation from the Planning Dept, which describes the scope of the project to be studied for environmental impacts.
When: October 30th (Tuesday), 6-8pm.
