PARENT RESOURCES
Parents for Public School-SF (PPS-SF) has served hundreds families in District 7 over the past two years. They’ve served many more over the span of our 17 year history in the city. Their multilingual programming provides families with the resources they need to get to and through their student’s public education journey. They’re hosting an April 23 family friendly Yogathon fundraiser to help them continue their programming to continue serving our community.

Stay up to date on school district issues by visiting The Newsroom. Parents for Public Schools also organizes Enrollment Workshops to guide families through the SF public school enrollment process.  Spread the word!

District 7 Public Safety Summits

DISTRICT 7 PUBLIC SAFETY SUMMITS

Safety is on everyone’s mind as property crimes continue to increase citywide.  In District 7, we are co-hosting a series of Public Safety Summits in partnership with SF Police Department, the SF District Attorney’s Office, SFSAFE, and neighborhood associations to bring everyone together on a solutions-based approach to increase safety in our neighborhoods. District 7 is represented by three Police precinct stations:  Taraval, Ingleside, and Park stations.  We are organizing summits with Captains of each precinct. We encourage all residents to attend your police precinct’s summit to get informed on what the City is doing on crime prevention strategies and how you can help organize with your neighborhood.  Click here to see which station serves you.  If you have any questions or would like to get involved, please contact Jen.Low@sfgov.org.

PARTICIPATORY BUDGETING UPDATE

Your District. Your Ideas. Your Vote

residents at a public Participatory Budget meetingGet Ready to Get Out the Vote

Our office is in the final stretch working with departments to finalize and translate the ballot for you-our district residents -to vote on which Participatory Budgeting projects will be funded.  We will have on-line voting and in person at 3 locations.  We’ll send out an e-mail blast shortly with details as well have the link to vote in next month’s newsletter.

Participatory Budgeting (PB) is a completely community driven process where D7 residents create ideas for projects, a Neighborhood Council made up residents from different neighborhoods in District 7 reviewed and ranked proposals, and residents will vote on which projects will be funded. This year proposals were focused on pedestrian safety, neighborhood services, culture, school, education, youth and small businesses.
