Update: Frida Kahlo Quick Build

SFMTA shared a couple of updates on the Frida QB Project:

Conceptual Design: Since December, we’ve made a few significant changes to the proposed design for the project. Specifically, we’ve removed the existing southbound bikeway and widened the buffer area between the bikeway and travel lane on the east side of the street to accommodate the moto parking and bikeshare station. This allows for additional general vehicle parking on the west side of the street compared to existing and the design we shared in 2023. The total proposed general vehicle parking removal due to the project is now 33 spaces. To see the proposed conceptual design and more information on parking changes, please refer to the attached document (also publicly available on the project webpage).

Project Approvals: The project cleared the final internal review milestone yesterday, meaning that we can advance it to a formal engineering public hearing, held virtually on February 16th at 10am. We will advertise this hearing via our project email list and by posting flyers in the project area (please share within your networks as well). No decisions will be made at the hearing. Following public hearing, the project will be heard by the MTA Board of Directors as soon as March 19th for a final decision.
