Join us for the Q4 Sunnsyide Clean and Green on Nov 15th
Now that everyone is done with dressing up and distributing candy for Halloween, it’s time to get ready for our last Clean and Green for the year! Besides the regular trash pickers and bags, we will also have some yard bags so we can do some weeding. So come with your garden gloves if you’ve got some! Please RSVP if you plan to join us.

Add your candy station to the Halloween Treat Map
Hi neighbors, the 2025 Halloween treat map is live! Add your house by submitting the Google form and the treat map will update within a day.
Also a reminder to sign up if you could help. We have some takers on the potluck/official candy station but could use more neighborhood-hands for the clean up after all the children on sugar high head home!

The Detroit Steps Project (DSP) is thrilled to announce a fantastic event to celebrate San Francisco Stairway Month and highlight one of our community’s latest accomplishments: the newly completed Painted Stairway located on the Upper Detroit Steps at 400 Monterey Blvd!
Step Into Sunnyside History
We’re inviting you to join us for a Sunnyside First: the Sunnyside Garden and Stairway Walk! This is a perfect chance to get some fresh air, meet your neighbors, and appreciate the unique charm of Sunnyside.
- When: Sunday, October 26th, from 2-4 PM
- Starting Point: 236 Monterey Blvd (This is the Sunnyside Conservatory area)
- What: A delightful walk from the Sunnyside Conservatory to the Painted Detroit Steps, winding through Sunnyside’s hidden parks and parklets.
This special walking tour will be led by Amy O’Hair of the Sunnyside History Project. She’ll share fascinating stories and insights into the history of our neighborhood, bringing the local landscape to life!
See the newly painted Stairway!
You’ll get to see the stunning results of the DSP’s hard work—the vibrant, newly completed Painted Stairway on the Upper Detroit Steps. It’s a true neighborhood masterpiece and a testament to community spirit!
