Beware of Curb Number Painting Notice Scam

The SFMTA has received tips about fraudulent curb paint enterprises that illegally paint address numbers on the curb for a fee. The SFMTA does not paint address numbers on the curb nor is this practice sanctioned by the SFMTA in any way. One such fraudulent group goes under the name of “Community Services”, “Community Address Painting Service” or similar names. They are not a legitimate service. Please refrain from giving money to such groups and call 911 if threatened.

SFMTA regulations can be found here.

Coyote sightings in Sunnyside

Early morning sightings of coyotes in Sunnyside. Coyotes are shy by nature, and prefer to have as little interaction with humans as possible. It’s important to be aware of your surroundings. If you encounter a coyote, leash and/or pick up your pets, appear confident, and alert the animal to move away by appearing larger and making loud noises. Safest to leave the situation and avoid further encounter.

If you see a coyote behaving aggressively (exhibiting unusual behavior, like approaching a vehicle or person with little to no fear), contact the city’s animal care and control team. , report it to SF Animal Care and Control at 415-554-9400 or online at ACC@sfgov.org.

Adopt a Drain, San Francisco!

The rain in Sunnyside stays mainly in the drain. This week’s rain is hopefully a preview of a watery winter to come.

Want to ensure the water goes down the drain? You can adopt one or more of San Francisco’s 25,000+ storm drains. By pledging to keep your drain free of leaves and debris, you are joining your neighbors in helping to protect the environment, manage stormwater, and minimize flooding.
