Slow Hearst is painting a mural

The Friends of Slow Hearst is inviting the community to help make a street mural on Hearst Avenue a reality.

From October 15 – 22, mural artist Josué Rojas and the San Francisco Parks Alliance team will paint the mural on Hearst Avenue. Friends of Slow Hearst will help close the street between Detroit and Edna so Josué can safely install the mural (all permits successfully issued by the city).

Also on Saturday, Oct 19, Friends of Slow Hearst will host a Community Painting Day so anyone from the Sunnyside community can help to paint the mural. You can volunteer to help out here.

Balboa Reservoir’s 1,100-Unit Housing Project: Community Update on September 28th

The development team behind the 1,100-unit housing project is hosting a public meeting on September 28th, from 10am to 12pm at Unity Plaza (1040 Ocean Ave, San Francisco, CA 94112).

This meeting will cover a range of topics crucial to understanding where the project currently stands and what’s on the horizon. You’ll get to see how far construction planning has come with a visual update and timeline on the current phase. You’ll also get a deeper look at the design choices that are shaping this new community, in particular the design of Building A which is slated to be built first. Learn how this project will contribute to the neighborhood and city, from affordable housing to new parks and improved infrastructure. Discover the eco-friendly features being incorporated into the project. And if you have questions, there will be a Q&A session where you can get them answered directly by the experts.

The project will significantly impact the Ingleside neighborhood and San Francisco as a whole. Attending this meeting is a great way to stay informed, share your thoughts and concerns with the team behind the project, and connect with neighbors and others invested in the future of the Balboa Reservoir area.
