Monterey Blvd. Greening Work Day – Sunday, February 2 – 9:30 a.m.

There will be a greening clean-up Sunday Feb 2, starting on Monterey Blvd at Acadia, at 9:30am  The “pointy-bit” median needs trash pick-up and clearing of weeds & leaves around the plants. From there we’ll move to Circular, to pick up trash as far as we can go toward Judson. (It hasn’t been wet enough for most weeds to grow, which is both bad & good news.)

You may have seen the new irrigation systems installed on the Monterey medians. We’re pleased the city has provided this, & we’ve asked when they will be activated. Please report any irrigation & other problems to us, and if it’s urgent, alert 311.

Thanks: we’ll be glad to have your help on Sunday!

Community Meeting – San Jose Avenue improvements, Monday 2/3/14 6:30 p.m. Glen Park School

Join Supervisor Scott Wiener, the SF Municipal Transportation Agency, the College Hill Neighborhood Association and the Glen Park Association at an upcoming community meeting on Monday, February 3 to discuss proposed safety improvements for San Jose Avenue between Monterey Boulevard and Randall Street.   The City, after many years of working with Caltrans and other stakeholders, would like to present a proposal aimed at maximizing safety for all users of the street.  Many vehicles travel well above the posted speed limit along this segment – this project aims to bring vehicle closer to 35 mph.   Join your neighbors to hear more about this proposal and how the City plans on collecting data to evaluate the success of the project.  The community meeting will be held at the Glen Park School (151 Lippard Ave. at Boswell St.) at 6:30pm.
