Transit Lane Installation and Left Turn Restrictions Coming Soon to Ocean Avenue

As soon as the week of January 12, crews will begin painting red transit lanes and adding five left turn restrictions on Ocean Avenue in Ingleside. The transit lanes will extend between Junipero Serra Boulevard and Lee Avenue. We’re adding these red transit lanes to make trips on the K Ingleside faster and more reliable. Dorothy Erskine Park Habitat Restoration – Call for Volunteers

Saturday, Nov. 22, 9:30 am – noon @ Martha Ave. entrance

Dorothy Erskine Park is located near the northeast border of Sunnyside on a hill overlooking Glen Park.  On sunny days, you can find solitude, views of Mt. Diablo and fluttering anise swallowtail butterflies.  In the spring, there are native wildflowers, just waiting for a helping hand to free them from the invasive grasses that have overrun the park.

The Sunnyside Neighborhood Association was instrumental in securing this land for the community back in 1978 and is now supporting the Friends of Dorothy Erskine Park with their efforts to improve the park and restore its native grassland habitat.

On Saturday, November 22nd, 9:30-noon, the SF Rec & Park gardeners will be spreading wood chips to suppress the foxtails and other invasive grasses.  They’ll also be working on the trails to improve drainage.  Friends of Dorothy Erskine Park will be there helping out and would love to have you join them.

Sign up on the SFRPD website and email them to let them know that you are coming.
