Calling Sunnyside’s storm drain adopters…

Now is the time to check and clear your adoptee, before the rain that’s on its way. If you haven’t yet got your own pet drain (or is that custodianship?), find out more about the SFPUC program. So far, well over 30 Sunnyside drains have been adopted. What’s your speed?

This stark infographic demonstrates how important car speed is. The speed limit on Sunnyside’s busiest street, Monterey Blvd, was lowered to 25 MPH a few years ago, yet cars are often observed to be going much faster. The recent fatality at Valdez Ave and the serious injury collision near Foerster St that left a cyclist in a coma suggest actual speeds are substantially higher.
