Community Workshop on Proposed Urban Design Guidelines

SF Planning’s new Urban Design Guidelines will give direction to designers, builders, and developers, and shape the future of San Francisco in this time of rapid change. The areas in and around Sunnyside that will be impacted by the guidelines are marked in orange on this portion of the map included in a recent SF Planning presentation (PDF 47MB).

SF Planning is holding a public workshop about changes to the guidelines, which provide a framework for the review process for design professionals, such as developers and architects, as well as the general public. They are intended to guide all building development in all districts and establish a citywide set of expectations, goals, values, and qualities by which projects are evaluated during the review process.design review. CCSF trustees to examine Balboa Reservoir development’s impact on enrollment

The upcoming CCSF resolution, addressed by this SF Examiner article, was informed by the Balboa Reservoir Community Advisory Committee. Lisa Spinali, former SNA President and long-time Sunnyside resident, is president of the Committee.

Some City College of San Francisco trustees are concerned that turning the college’s parking lot on Balboa Reservoir into housing could have a negative impact on student enrollment at the already ailing institution.

The Balboa Reservoir Community Advisory Committee will hold its monthly meeting next Monday, March 14, from 6:15-8:30 pm, at CCSF, Multi-Use Bldg Room 140 (on Phelan just north of Ocean).

The Balboa Reservoir Community Advisory Committee will hold its monthly meeting next Monday, March 14, from 6:15-8:30 pm, at CCSF, Multi-Use Bldg Room 140 (on Phelan just north of Ocean). On the agenda are Urban Design Parameters and Housing Parameters with both discussions continuing from February 8. Neighbors are encouraged to attend these meetings which focus on the proposed housing development on the SFPUC-owned part of the Balboa Reservoir adjacent to City College
