Jan 5: SF Assessor’s Forum on Prop 19

This forum will be held online next Tuesday, January 5th (12:00 – 1:30 PM).

The San Francisco Office of the Assessor-Recorder invites you to their upcoming Family Wealth Forum, “Understanding How CA Prop 19 May Impact Your Family”. The Assessor’s Office wants to make sure to keep the community informed about changes to the law which may affect their families and financial planning. More info below.

“At the Assessor’s Office, we understand that planning for a secure financial future is a top priority for San Francisco families, especially during these uncertain times.  On Nov 3, 2020, CA voters passed Prop 19, “The Home Protection for Seniors, Severely Disabled, Families and Victims of Wildfire or Natural Disasters Act,” which makes changes to property tax benefits available to these groups. While this new law mostly expands property tax benefits for these groups, it includes provisions which significantly limit tax benefits for families who plan to pass property from parents to children.  In response, our Office is organizing a Digital Family Wealth Forum to educate San Francisco families about the loss of tax benefits before they go into effect on February 16, 2021.  We hope you will be able to join us for this event and share it with your family and neighbors who may find the information useful for their financial planning.”

Home Match San Francisco helps homeowners with extra rooms connect with home seekers who need an affordable place to live, creating a win-win situation.

Homeowners benefits from extra income or help with chores such as grocery shopping, pet care, or transportation. Home seekers who live, work, or study in San Francisco benefit from affordable rent and an established community. Both benefit from companionship.

Home Match is based on a national model and connects people based on lifestyle, personal preferences, and interests to insure compatibility. Our staff screen applicants through interviews, background checks, and home visits, and help potential matches design a comprehensive Living Together Agreement. And we continue to work with you, even after the match is made, offering on-going support.

Homeowners need to be able to provide the following: Continue reading “Have a spare room and want a good tenant? Free matching service”
