Below is a step-by-step guide on how to join and participate in the CAC meeting. We will post these online as soon as we have successfully completed a dry run of the meeting, testing both internal and public communication (hopefully by today). Please note that you *do not* need access to Microsoft products in order to access the online meeting–you will need internet access and a web browser in order to view the meeting online.

The following is analysis and opinion by Jennifer Heggie, the current chair of SNA’s Balboa Reservoir Committee, and does not necessarily reflect the official position of the Sunnyside Neighborhood Association.

BALBOA RESERVOIR DEVELOPMENT

The Draft Subsequent Environmental Impact Report identifies a number of areas in which the proposed development will create a significant adverse impact to the surroundings even after possible mitigation is implemented. These relate to Air Quality, Noise, and Transportation and Circulation. Neighborhood comments suggest that even with these identified harmful results, some of the tests used to draft the DSEIR were inadequate.

Transportation and Circulation 

There are three areas of significant impact to transportation and circulation due to the construction and/or operations of the Balboa Reservoir that would  result in Significant and Unavoidable adverse impacts with no feasible Mitigation or Significant and Unavoidable adverse impacts with Mitigation.  Continue reading “Analysis and Opinion: Balboa Reservoir Development”

Balboa Reservoir housing project: Design Guidelines draft now available

[UPDATE March 8th: The meeting of the BRCAC is now cancelled, to be rescheduled later.]

The Balboa Reservoir Community Advisory Committee will next meet on Monday March 9th (6-8 PM) at City College Multi-Use Building (Rm 140). The topic will be the draft Design Standards and Guidelines document, which sets out standards for a great many aspects of the project. PDF available here:

Feb 10: Balboa Reservoir community meeting — Public benefits on agenda

The next meeting of the Balboa Reservoir Community Advisory Committee (BRCAC) is Monday, February 10th, at City College Ocean Campus Multi-Use Bldg (Rm 140), 55 Frida Kahlo Way.
