To Balboa Reservoir neighbors and interested parties,

Thank you all very much for attending the Balboa Reservoir workshop at Lick Wilmerding High School on January 21st. The Planning Department and the Mayor’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development are happy to have kicked off the public dialogue with a such a great turnout, discussion and feedback.

The meeting presentation and related project materials  are all available on the Balboa Reservoir webpage. We encourage anyone who missed the public meeting to view the online materials and to take the online version of the survey that was given at the event. Please take a few moments to prioritize public amenities that could be a part of future development on the lower lot of the Balboa Reservoir site. Your input will guide the City in selecting future developer partner(s) for the site.

The next steps & the timeline for the project are as follows:
Jan-Feb 2015

•Community Meeting #1
•Online questionnaires, Neighborhood Meetings
•Refine the community’s understanding of what’s possible on the site

March 2015

•Second Workshop: Present survey findings on “what we’ve heard” and further analysis
•Create the evaluation for potential developer partners

Fall 2015
•Request for proposals (“RFP”) released to developer partners based on your input
•Developer partner selection

2016-2017
•Design conversation and workshops with future developer partner

As a side note, there were many items left at the last workshop. If you are missing something, please email jeremy.shaw@sfgov.org.

Thank you again for your attendance and participation in this project. You can read more about the project at http://www.sf-planning.org/BalboaReservoir and about the overall Public Land for Housing program at http://www.sf-planning.org/index.aspx?page=3913.

We look forward to continuing the conversation about the site.
