SFPUC – Construction Meetings & Greywater 101

Greywater 101
Greywater is the used water from your bathroom sinks, showers, tubs, and washing machines. Learn how you can reuse greywater in your home and landscape! Once illegal, greywater systems are now encouraged in drought-ridden California. Imagine using water from your bathroom sink, shower, or your clothes washer for your plants.
This Green Stacks event on Wednesday, September 30th will cover common systems, costs, and regulations. A new SFPUC laundry-to-landscape program is expected to launch in Fall 2015. If you would like to be notified when the program is available, please email landscape@sfwater.org.

Firms Needed for Construction Management Services
As the Sewer System Improvement Program (SSIP) moves into construction, we seek professional service consultants to provide construction management services at each of our wastewater treatment plants. There will be five contracting opportunities to cover the SFPUC’s different needs in the next several months.
Firms interested in joining the SFPUC Wednesday, September 16th for a presentation about the upcoming contracting opportunities can RSVP here. This event will also be an excellent networking opportunity as potential prime proposers, subconsultants, and LBEs will be present to learn more about the contracting opportunities.

Southeast Business Owners
Please join us on Thursday, September 10th for an update on Southeast Treatment Plant projects and potential construction activity near your business. SFPUC project managers will be on hand to discuss planned upgrades to the treatment plant and to answer your questions. Coffee and refreshments will be served, more details here.

Sincerely,
The SFPUC Sewer System Communications Team
