As we enter summer I am pleased to share with you spring updates.

If you haven’t heard yet, Participatory Budget results are in! I’m proud to announce that this year’s participatory budgeting received record votes. Thank you, everyone, for all of your enthusiasm and participation in our 3rd year.

Regarding public safety, I have been very concerned with the crime increase in our neighborhoods and across the City, so I have been working closely with the Police Department, including our neighborhood precinct Captains, and the crime prevention nonprofit, SFSAFE to seek both short- and long-term solutions. I will continue to work closely with the new Acting Chief Chaplain to ensure adequate resources are dedicated to the West Side.

Please be advised of the following pertinent transportation announcements:

1. The SF County Transportation Authority and Mayor’s Office of Transportation is conducting a transportation survey for parents of kindergarten through 5^th graders attending school in San Francisco.  https://usfca.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe1/form/SV_a5Jr7WCyPspvuFT
2. The SFMTA is undertaking a comprehensive, data-driven evaluation of the Residential Parking Permit, or RPP, program. If you’re interested, the closest meeting to you will be held tomorrow, May 25^th. Dear Community Members,

It’s time!  Voting is now open for 2016’s District 7 Participatory Budget! This is our 3^rd annual community-led budgeting process that allows you—District 7 residents–to decide where best to spend our dollars. This year, we have $500,000 for community improvement and pedestrian safety projects.

We received a number of great applications from all over the District. Now, we need you to help us select which projects will receive funding. Winning projects need to receive at least 200 votes. You can vote any time between now and Friday, April 22, 2016.  To vote, you must be a District 7 resident who is 16 and older.
