Calling all volunteers: Detroit Steps maintenance day: January 29

Detroit Steps Project (DSP) is holding a clean up day, lunch provided as a thank you for volunteering.

Sunday Jan. 29th from 10-12 a small group will be taking down Holiday Decorations, putting up some Valentine’s Day decorations, sweeping and cleaning the steps and then we’ll enjoy a catered lunch. 

Let’s make Sunnyside shine together! Join the Detroit Steps Project, RefuseRefuseSF, Shine On, SF Public Works, and TogetherSF for a friendly neighborhood cleanup! The Detroit Steps Project is a multi-year multi-phased community-led project to beautify with landscape and tiling the Detroit Steps, a 185-step stairway in Sunnyside. Volunteers will meet at the lower Detroit Steps (Detroit St & Hearst Ave) to grab supplies, meet your project leader and split into crews. Cleaning, sweeping, and gardening will occur from 10 am to 12 pm at the steps and surrounding neighborhood.

Bring your refillable water bottle and enjoy lunch, complements of the Detroit Steps Project group! Returning volunteers for 3 cleanups will win a DSP cap, and for 6 or more a DSP shirt!
