Changes in Muni Service

FROM SF MUNICIPAL TRANSIT AGENCY:

HeadsUp: Starting this Monday, 3/30, the following temporary service changes will take effect until further notice:

Muni Metro service:

  • Subway service will be suspended and replaced by bus substitutions.
    • The following stations will be closed:
      • West Portal, Forest Hill, Castro, Church and Van Ness.
    • Downtown stations shared with BART will remain open during BART operating hours. However, the Muni section will be closed at the following stations:
      • Civic Center, Powell, Montgomery and Embarcadero. 
  • Bus shuttles will provide service on all Muni Metro lines.
    • Bus shuttles will use the same stop locations as the Early Morning Metro Bus Service
    • The interval times on weekdays will be:
      • 10-minutes for the N Bus.
      • 12-minutes for all other lines.
    • The interval times on weekends will be:
      • 15-minutes on all lines.
  • Arrival times for Metro train service will no longer be available. For Metro bus shuttle service arrival time predictions, please check Nextbus for:
    • JBus
    • KTBus
    • LBus
    • MBus
    • NBus

Rapid Route service:

  • Service on the 5R, 9R, 28R, and 38R will be suspended. Use local bus service.
    • The 5 will use longer coaches, serving all local stops between Cabrillo/La Playa and the Transit Center for all hours of service.
    • The 9 will use longer coaches, serving all local stops between Sunnydale/McLaren School and Main/Mission for all hours of service.
    • The 38 will extend to 48th Ave after serving the VA hospital.
  • The 14R will continue to operate.

Beginning Saturday, April 4:

  • Weekend 47 service will be suspended.
    • Use the 49 which will be extended to Fisherman’s Wharf (weekends only).

Previously announced service changes:

  • Express, 41, 88 and E Line service suspended
  • Bus shuttles providing all cable car and F Line service
    • F Line service will be between Ferry & Pier 39 only
