Detroit Street crosswalk beacon installed today

The long-awaited pedestrian-activated beacon was finally installed today on Monterey Boulevard at the Detroit Street crosswalk by city contractor BayAreaLightworks.

Unfortunately the position of the previously-placed pedestrian alert sign blocks the view of the new beacon for some west-bound automobiles. Hopefully SFMTA’s signage workers will correct this problem soon.

New beacon is located behind “State Law” sign for some westbound cars. and so blocked from view. On Monterey Blvd at Detroit Street crosswalk.
