From SFMTA: Stop Changes to Muni Routes 29 and 49 & Detours on Ocean Avenue

For approximately one month anticipated to start Saturday, November 12 (was Nov 5), we will need to close eastbound Ocean Avenue between Geneva and San Jose avenues to make improvements around the Balboa Park Station. To accommodate the closures, Muni routes 29-Sunset and 49-Mission/Van Ness will be rerouted to Geneva Avenue. Details below.  

Temporary Traffic Detours on Ocean Ave, between Geneva and San Jose avenues

Traffic Impacts on Ocean Avenue:

  • Eastbound Ocean Ave closed between Geneva and San Jose Avenues
  • The I-280 Northbound entrance will only have access on weekdays.
  • Ocean Ave Westbound will remain open
  • Howth St. will be temporarily converted to a two-way street for local access only

 

29-Sunset and 49-Van Ness/Mission Eastbound Temporary Reroute:

To accommodate street closures, routes 29-Sunset and 49-VanNess/Mission will be rerouted in the Eastbound direction on Geneva Ave.

Temporary boarding areas:

CURRENT STOPS TEMPORARY STOPS
Ocean & Howth  (Eastbound*) Geneva & Howth
Ocean at Balboa Park Station (Eastbound*) San Jose at Geneva, in front of Crazy Pepper

*The westbound direction will remain unchanged.
